Disney does love us all! Disney has added male fairies to its “Pixie Hollow” online game. They call them “sparrow men” instead of “fairies,” and they’re magically awesome. You can fly around and meet other fairies & sparrow men for some truly fun online play.

If you saw the second Tinker Bell movie, “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,” then you met your first sparrow man there — Terrence. Now we can all play in Pixie Hollow with our own sparrow man avatars. Yea!

I created the Disney sparrow man character of “Dawson Greenmeadow” (that’s him in the picture.) Dawson’s a garden fairy– er, sparrow man. I got to customize his look, and as I win games I’ll get to buy new clothes and things for DG. (Hey, I wonder if Disney will sell Dolce & Gabbana belts for Dawson to wear, so I can pretend they’re monogrammed just for him?)

I’ve decided to dress up at the Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World) for Halloween. We’re going to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, where they invite you to wear a Halloween costume. I can hardly wait to see the gravediggers in the “Boo to You” parade (video above). After several years of not dressing up, I want to do it big this year at Disney World!

My choice of Halloween costume? Dead Titanic gentleman! I’m going to be a very formal Titanic guest who went down with the ship. Top hat and tails frayed and covered with seaweed, toy octopus dangling from my leg, blue and green makeup of a water-logged drowning victim. I’m already shopping around for my Disney Halloween get-up!

(Enrique isn’t sure whether he’ll dress up. I hope he does, and I’ll be happy to help. He’s welcome to join me on the Titanic — he loves to go swimming.)

Fireworks at Disney Fairytale Weddings

Okay, I know this is over-the-top, but how awesome would a gay wedding at Walt Disney World with personal fireworks be?! Disney talks about “private fireworks” on the current DisneyParks Blog. So cool!

Disney “legalized” same-sex marriage at the parks a long time ago. Adding “sparkle” seems like a logical next step, right?

Now, my partner Enrique is a Disney fan (thank goodness), but he’s not quite ready for a Disney Fairytale Wedding. I am! Maybe someday he will be, too — and then we can get our own fireworks…

Epcot just release the Eat to the Beat concert series for October. I’ve been waiting for this, so I can make final plans for our trip. The concerts are part of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. Awesome, right? We’d be so excited just to see Epcot, and we’re also going to get the Food and Wine Festival, Eat to the Beat concert plus Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween at the Magic Kingdom. Yea!

Lots of fun ’80s acts are playing Eat to the Beat. Rick Springfield (”Jesse’s Girl”), Exposé (”Point of no Return”), Howard Jones (”No One is to Blame”) Kool & the Gang (”Celebration”) and Billy Ocean (”Caribbean Queen”), among others. Enrique and I love ’80s music, so we’re psyched.

Air Supply won Enrique’s vote, so we’re planning to visit Epcot on Oct. 11 to see them. (I don’t have as strong feelings about pop music. I’m more into jazz & standards.) Enrique’s face just lit up when he heard that Air Supply was playing. I got such a warm feeling seeing my honey so happy. Air Supply it is!

BTW, how fun that October 11 is also National Coming Out Day. Not sure how we’ll mark the date, if at all. Of course, going with your boyfriend to see Air Supply at Walt Disney World probably says “I’m gay!” loud enough.

My partner Enrique is going with me. He’s from Spain, and he’s never been to Walt Disney World before. Because Enrique loves animals, we’re staying at the Animal Kingdom Resort. I can hardly wait to see his smile when a giraffe walks near our balcony, or when Koda & Kenai (his favorite Disney bears) greet us at Camp Minnie Mickey.
